Changing the project doesn't change the system

People often reach out to me this way.

A well-written message.

Flattery about my career.

Nostalgia for shared moments — even when there's been no contact for ages.

Then the real request arrives.

A piece of information. A contact. A diagnosis.

No offer of reciprocity.

No real commitment.

I feel it right away.

It's not malicious.

It's a mode of operating.

We change the project.

We keep the structure.

The content can be exciting — organic, pioneering, meaningful.

But changing the project doesn't change the system.

If the way of building stays the same — getting without committing, taking without offering — the energy just spins in circles.

It's exactly that system that has produced a society that has lost its meaning.

What's revealing isn't what's asked.

It's how it's phrased.

Solely from one's own point of view.

With pretty decorations to soften the extraction.

To commit is to accept all the consequences.

Including that of saying clearly:

"I need help. And I'm willing to honor it."

My time and my energy have value.

When they circulate, it's within a real exchange — or not at all.

Money isn't an end.

It's a signal.

The signal that the exchange is alive.
